"Beauty and graciousness, joy of living, being used in every part, these are the things that make a house a home.”

Philosophy
I believe that a passion for living well is the foundation of great design. A good designer is an aesthete, with a solid knowledge of architectural history, an understanding of functional design, and a profound respect for craftsmanship and materials. Yet this is merely the most basic of requirements. As I grow in my profession, I realize that great residential design is so much more: it is the exceptional ability to to transform a house into a home. A house may provide shelter, be solidly built and is visually pleasing, but a home exists in a dynamic intimate relationship with its inhabitants. It delights them in its detail, and responds to their needs and passions, even as they change over time. A home is a place that nourishes the soul; it allows a person to sit and say “I belong here”.
...That is my aspiration.
